Sunrise Over Ennis

What My email Said: Retrospective:
Ellis Skinner dealt the cards last night. He runs the poker room @ Strozies in West Yellowstone. He got his dealer's licensee 2 mos ago. He also took all of the amazing photos on the walls-a close-up of a family of bison in the snow, fall foliage in the Tetons, a teepee set in a backdrop of 15 feet ft of fluffy white snow..,

"That's actually my backyard," he tells us. "My roommate lives in it, even when it's 60 below. But he met some chick on the internet, and now he's in Canada".

Gary, to my left, LIVES in Yellowstone, as do many of the park employees. He does road work.

Everybody spoke of fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, or snowmobiling.

No one here needs to be told to get a life.

When I found out there was poker in town, I sacrificed my usual 12 hours of sleep, trading it for 5. I was ahead $70 early on, but ended up losing $42. Had a good time.

Waking up 2 hours late, I feared that I'd meet up with the dreaded Ms. wind before I was through. However, because I'd purposefully ridden an extra13 miles yesterday to avoid having to camp (heaven forbid), I only had to do 39 miles today.

Lo and behold, I did meet up with her, but she was directly at my back, blowing fiercely. I kept going until I reached Ennis, a full 73.7 miles. And get this-i AVERAGED 16.3 mph for the whole day!

Montana is it-the cat's meow, the whole 9 yards, my cup of tea, etc. This is where you'll find me someday.

Anybody wanna go in on a motel in Ennis? $795K- 12 Really Nice units well maintained. 6 RV spots, 3 additional motor home spots with 2 motor homes included. 5.9 acres of land and a three bedroom house.

Took few photos today-Big Sky Country can't be photographed-it has to be experienced.

Yesterday-Yellowstone- WHATEVER. Yeah, gorgeous, fascinating, I saw deer. I also saw about 15,000 humans, RVs, motor homes, cars and trucks. No thank you.

Today, I saw maybe 200 cars-mostly heard the Madison river gurgling or roaring, cows mooing, crows cawing, and the hum of my tires doing 20 mph through paradise.

Crossed the Continental Divide for the 7th & 8th time yesterday, leaving me once again on the East Side. Guess I gotta climb the Rockies again...

Looking forward to more poker.
