Day 12 - Afton, Virginia - 60 Miles

Well, I've been trying to deal with these mountains in the most rational way possible by taking short days for the last week, then yesterday actually taking a day off.  But today it was raining, and after 25 miles of being soaked, and experiencing some difficult hills, I decided to stop.  12 noon.

Tomorrow's forecast is for sun, so I'll finally hit the mountains.  To date, I still haven't hit some of the hills described in the book as "steep".  Today I hit some "challenging" hills and they were tough.

The odometer stopped working in the rain.  Bummer, I definitely rely on it.
